For Baby Hsu's baby shower, it was a "girls only" shower because the guys are always so bored and uncomfortable at these events (based on a survey of several gentlemen friends). I had planned the entire baby shower because I simply did not want to bother any of my girlfriends, but rather to have them attend and enjoy the festivities.  Being a first time mom-to-be, I did not have a little one demanding most of my time.  Therefore, I was able to make my own baby shower invitations with leftover cardstock from our wedding invitations and decorated the invitations with animal stickers and "It's a Boy" ribbons.  My lady friends and family enjoyed a scrumptious Saturday all-you-can-eat champagne brunch at a restaurant with a fabulous view of the city.  The beautiful morning started out with decorating my party's area with balloons and a string of Baby Hsu's onesies (with the help of my husband and family).  My favors served also as placecards, which were colorful baby bottles filled with candy.  As guests started trickling in, I was able to chat with them.  When the majority of guests arrived, everyone headed straight to the buffet.  During the meal, some of my girlfriends had prepared baby shower games.  One of the games was to estimate how large my waist was with a piece of yarn.  So, the guest who had the yarn closest to the length of my yarn that I used to measure my belly was the winner.  I actually forgot what were the other games played.  The baby shower ended with gift opening.  Everyone "oohed and ahhed" each gift that I opened because baby items are just so darn cute.  Here is a photo from Baby Hsu's baby shower in 2010 with my cousins (I was tired and you can tell from this photo).
