Bathing a Newborn - Baby Hsu's First Bath

Here is what I have learned on how to bathe a newborn (ok to bathe after umbilical cord has fallen off). Photo was taken several weeks ago.

Have all your items ready in place - washcloth, hair/body wash, hooded towel near tub; clothes, diaper, vaseline/ointment (if applicable), brush near changing area
Fill tub with warm water and use elbow to check the temperature
Undress and swaddle baby (remember to remove the diaper)
Turn on warm water from sink faucet - hold baby and use washcloth to wash baby's face, then use hair/body wash to wash baby's hair and use washcloth to rinse
Slowly place baby in tub and unwrap the swaddle, while using one hand to support baby's neck; with both sides of the swaddle wet, wrap each hand in the swaddle (pictured above)
Squirt some hair/body wash onto baby's body and lather it all over his body and use washcloth to rinse
Turn baby over and use an arm to support baby (your arm under both of baby's armpits)
Use washcloth to rinse baby's back; then, squirt hair/body wash on top of baby's buttocks to wash and rinse
Use hooded towel to dry baby's hair and body
Clothe and diaper baby - voila, clean baby!

I found the tip to have the swaddle go into the tub with the baby to be awesome! Not only does the swaddle prevent the baby from slipping and sliding, but it also gives them a sense of security and something to grab onto when they are nervous. Baby Hsu rarely cries when it's bath time.

Another Upcoming CSN Review!

Again, I am excited to work with CSN Stores to review a huge selection of products from their 200+ online stores! CSN Stores carry a variety of end tables from their AllCoffeeTables.com store. I wish I was introduced to CSN Stores over a year ago when we moved into our house and were furnishing our rooms. In the future, I will definitely shop on AllCoffeeTables.com when we decide to change our end tables in our family and living room. We actually purchased round end tables to be used as our night stands in our master bedroom and it looks and works great.

CSN Stores carry over 1 million products and is constantly rising with new products being added. They don't only just carry products, but they carry a wide selection of brand name products that are trustworthy. With Baby Hsu being almost a month old, he will definitely be doing a lot of traveling to grandparents' house. We will sure need a travel crib that is convenient and light.
