LuvLoo Mini Toywrangler Review

Thank you Moma Lovebug and LuvLoo for the useful Mini Toywrangler!  I have seen every baby throw all kinds of stuff on the floor and I know this will come in handy when Baby Hsu starts flinging around anything he can grab.  The Mini Toywrangler attaches your baby's toys, bottles, and cups to highchairs, stollers, shopping carts, carriers, car seats and more.  It is BPA-free, Phalate-free, and CPSIA compliant.  With the Mini Toywrangler, you may keep anything within baby's reach and you won't have to search for items thrown on the floor.  Both sides may be used, where the plastic ring is perfect for pacifiers, most bottles, and toys and the elastic cuff is ideal for larger bottles and sippy cups.  The elastic bungy cord that attaches the cuff to the ring allows for the convenience when your baby wants to reach for the item to bring it closer to him/her.

LuvLoo's Mini Toywrangler is something I would carry around to avoid playing "catch" with Baby Hsu!

My Baby Clothes Boutique also carries other adorable items:

Baby Hsu will be styling with these two hip hats and will match with Daddy (since he just bought a new hat after shopping around for a bit)!

Halo SleepSack Swaddle Review #2

Thank you Superhero Boy and Halo SleepSack for the Micro-Fleece SleepSack Swaddle!  The SleepSack will keep your baby safe and warm all night long as mentioned in my previous review.  The 2-in-1 SleepSack Swaddle now comes with an adjustable, removable swaddle feature, which allows you to swaddle from birth and remove the swaddle feature for arms out.  The Stay-Fixed Velcro loops secure the swaddle to the wearable blanket.  It is made of 100% flame-retardent polyester fleece.

Baby Hsu will definitely be kept warm with his collection of wearable blankets!

Introduced to Grass-Fed Beef and Organic Milk

I didn't think about organic food until the day I was conceived with Baby Hsu and my doctor suggested the idea of eating grass-fed beef and drinking organic milk.  I haven't started with grass-fed beef yet, but I did make the switch to Horizon organic milk.

Milk that is labeled "USDA Organic" must fulfill the following four requirements:
1.  Cows that have not been treated with bovine growth hormone (BGH)
2.  Cows that are not treated with antibiotics
3.  The cows' feed is grown without pesticides
4.  Cows must have access to pasture

Traditionally, all beef was grass-fed beef, but the U.S. today concentrates on feeding the cattle with grain.  It is unnatural and dangerous for cows, in turn dangerous for us, when switching a cow from grass to grain.  When cattle are grain-fed, they are also continually fed antibiotics and their intestinal tracts are far more acidic, which favors the growth of E. coli bacteria.
Benefits of grass-fed beef
- Less than 10% saturated fat
- Natural source of omega 3 fats High in CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)
- Full of beta carotene
- Loaded with over 400% more of vitamins A and E
- Less risk of Mad Cow Disease

Based on my research, the extra omega 3 from the grass-fed beef will provide nutritional benefits for your child when consumed while pregnant or breastfeeding.  I will definitely check out the grass-fed beef the next time I go to the supermarket.

Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad Review

Thank you Sugar Pop Ribbons and Ah Goo Baby for the chic and portable Plush Pad (Vintage in Blue)!  The portable changing station opens approximately 2 ft. sq. and compactly rolls into a 10" x 3" cylinder with woven elastic loops on both ends to secure the rolled up pad.  There's a memory foam cushion that runs down the middle of The Plush Pad, which conforms to the curves of your baby's body.  It is machine washable and water-resistant where the memory foam can be easily removed prior to washing.  The Plush Pad is versatile, which can be used for diaper changes, tummy time, infant/parent classes, around your home, on the go, and travel.

The Plush Pad will definitely be an item to tote around in my diaper bag!  Now, all I need is a chic and stylish diaper bag to match this chic and stylish Plush Pad.

Baby Boy Bow Ties by Loveable Creations Boutique Review

Thank you Life with the Lebedas and Loveable Creations Boutique for the charming baby boy bow ties!  I was first very attracted to Loveable Creations' flower headbands for baby girls, until I found out I was have a baby boy.  Luckily, they had one item for baby boys - the bow ties.  The 3" x 1.5" bow tie is attached to an alligator clip, which can be easily clipped onto the baby's dress shirt.  Loveable Creations carry a variety of ribbons for you to choose from for your perfect bow tie.  If you don't see a pattern you like, you may suggest an idea and they will whole-heartedly shop for a matching pattern and color.

Loveable Creations Boutique carries other adorable products - flowers, infant hats, cotton knit hats, beanie hats, curly ostrich puffs, headbands, bows, gift sets, crocheted appliques, and diaper covers.  Baby Hsu will be properly dressed for Sunday service with his dress shirt paired with Loveable Creations' bow ties!

Jayneoni Moore's She's Having a Baby Event - 05/23/10 (Beverly Hills)

Thank you Flying Giggles and Lollipops and Jayneoni Moore for making it possible for my husband and I to attend the She's Having a Baby Event in Beverly Hills!  I learned a lot about some products that I haven't heard of and enjoyed visiting some familiar vendors.  Sponsors present included Smart Mom, Boon Inc., Orbit Baby, Moby Wrap, The Bump, Cloud B, Wendy Anne, Swaddle Designs, Little Crown Interiors, Timi & Leslie, MAM, Tommee Tipee, and many more.  Honestly, it was a little smaller than what I had expected and not all the sponsors did make it to the event.  But, I still had a great time.  I just love these baby events and wished there were more in the area.  We were pretty much done within an hour and a half, so we decided to go shopping at the Westfield Century City afterwards.

Ecostore USA All Purpose Cleaner & Baby Nappy Balm Review

Ecostore USA is a branch of Ecostore, which was founded more than 15 years ago in an eco village in New Zealand.  They offer budget-friendly household products using plant-based ingredients that would biodegrade safely and quickly.  Their motto "No Nasty Chemicals" gained popular appeal, which Ecostore quickly grew to what it has become now.

The All Purpose Cleaner can be used from room to room.  The 17 fl. oz. bottle contains the following ingredients:  D-Limonene (from citrus), palm and coconut based non-ionic and anionic surfactants, fatty acid derivative, ethanol, and filtered water.  The cleaner has a light citrus smell, which is friendly to one's nose.  I very much prefer this All Purpose Cleaner over other cleaners because there are no harsh chemicals and the smell is simply refreshing.

The Baby Nappy Balm is used to soothe a baby skin's from diaper rashes, cradle caps, and other irritations.  The 2 oz. bottle contains the following ingredients:  Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Oil, Zinc Oxide, and Cera Alba (Beeswax).  Since I have not had the chance to test the balm on Baby Hsu, I slathered a good amount on the back of my hands.  It is non-scented and non-greasy that leaves the skin silky and smooth.

Ecostore's All Purpose Cleaner and Baby Nappy Balm are both great alternatives to conventional, toxic products.  As a mom-to-be, I feel very much at ease when I use eco-friendly products at home that will not jeopardize the health of my family (HSUper Parents-Approved)!

Minky Lovie and Burp by Lucky Duck Embroidery Boutique Review

Thank you Mommy's Sweet Things and
Lucky Duck Embroidery Boutique for the soft and fuzzy Minky Lovie and Burp!  Both are personalized with Baby Hsu's name, which makes it so personable.  At Lucky Duck Embroidery Boutique, you may customize all your products with your choice of fabrics and fonts.  The Minky Lovie is a double-sided 20" x 20" blanket with a satin or minky trim.  It is so soft and plush that I just want to wrap myself with the Lovie (unfortunately, I'm to big for the Lovie).  But, they do carry Minky Blankets sized at 40" x 40".  The Burp is a 14" x 20" burp cloth made with 100% pre-washed cotton with a 6" strip of Minky fabric on the front that runs in the middle from top to bottom.  There are also other designs with embroidered animals.  The Burps are amazing because the material is thick and durable, which can withstand multiple washings due to all the "throw up" that will land on the Burp.

Lucky Duck Embroidery Boutique also carries Minky blankets and quilts, travel tumblers and koozies, bibs, makeup cases, robes and spa wraps, hooded towels, baby wipes holder and diaper travel cases, and other miscellaneous items.

Not only are the Minky Lovie and Burp luxuriously plush, the designs are chic and adorable to carry with me and Baby Hsu for an outing!

GIVEAWAY - ViCera Ceramic 5.5" Santoku Knife (CLOSED)

ViCera Cutlery (pronounce vee-say-rah) is one of the top companies that specializes in ceramic knives made of an advanced, high-tech pure Japanese ceramic called zirconium oxide (also known as zirconia).  They are also one of the only companies producing ceramic knives made in Japan.  In Japanese, the name ViCera combined means
"beautiful ceramics".  Zirconium oxide is extremely hard and wear resistant, which is rated 8.5 on the Mohs scale falling in between stainless steel (5-6 Mohs) and diamonds (10 Mohs).

"When you pick up a ViCera™ ceramic knife, you are holding a perfect balance of new technology and old-world craftsmanship.  A brilliant, white blade that is as light as a feather and tougher than nails."

Features:
- Sharp cutting edge
- Retains sharpness
- Double-bevel blade, suitable for right-handed or left-handed users
- Ultra-light weight
- Won't rust or stain
- Won't discolor foods
- Easy to clean

I have been given the opportunity to review ViCera's Santoku Knife.  All I can say is WOW!  ViCera's ceramic knives are something else and like no other (my Wusthof knives are great but it's just not ViCera's knives).  I am left-handed and I mainly cook Cantonese cuisine and you know what that means - lots of chopping and dicing.  This knife cuts with precision without having to use much force.  It is very light and manageable where I have better control of the knife and cutting.  The price is affordable and I definitely think it's a great investment.  ViCera's Ceramic Santoku Knife is my favorite knife which I use daily.

Everyone's kitchen should definitely be stocked with at least one ViCera ceramic knife.  Once you use ViCera's ceramic knives, there is no turning back (HSUper Parents-Approved)!

BUY IT!  The Santoku Knife may be purchased for $69.98 at ViCera Cutlery.  They currently offer free standard ground shipping.

WIN IT!  ViCera Cutlery has kindly offer to award a lucky HSUper Parents reader with a Santoku Knife.

DSLR Camera Strap Cover by The Upper Room Review

Thank you The Ethertons and The Upper Room for this beautiful, reversible DSLR camera strap cover!  We recently bought our first Canon DSLR camera to get ready for Baby Hsu's arrival.  And, what better way to accessorize the camera with is a stylish and chic padded camera strap cover to hide the boring and uncomfortabl strap.  The opening is 2" x 24.74".  I just love how this camera strap cover prevents my camera strap from digging into the back of my neck.

The Upper Room offers a variety of unique fabric options for the camera strap cover.  In addition to their camera strap covers, they also carries a selection of appliqued shirts, cart covers, handbags, headbands, infant carrier covers, leg warmers, outdoor play mats, pillowcase dresses, and other custom items.  Now, all I need is a cute camera bag to tote around!

GIVEAWAY - Earth Mama Natural Stretch Oil & Hot Spot Labor Sock! (CLOSED)

Eco-friendly Baby Products - EcoMom (formerly SproutBaby) carries a wide selection of healthy, eco-conscious products for your baby to your home.  Plum Organics has just been added to EcoMom's line of products.  EcoMom was originally launched by a passionate and concerned mom, but has now grown to a team full of moms, dads, aunts, uncles, e-commerce veterans, and business and finance professionals.  As they say, "Love your family.  Love the planet".
25 weeks into my pregnancy, my entire body is definitely stretching and aching.  Thanks to EcoMom for supplying me with Earth Mama's Natural Stretch Oil and Earth Mama's Hot Spot Labor Sock.  Ever worry about what safe product to use to combat post-pregnancy stretch marks or an itching belly?  Worry no more.  Earth Mama's Natural Stretch Oil is made with plant-based oils of organic calendula, chamomile, borage seed oil and Vitamin E to moisturize and encourage your skin's natural elasticity and calm the itching.  For those who are plagued with morning sickness (very fortunate that I didn't have to go through it), the Stretch Oil has a light, delicate floral scent with a hint of citrus.  After I massage myself with the oil, I feel relaxed like I just came out of the spa.

Earth Mama's Hot Spot Labor Sock (not socks for your feet) will come in handy when I start to get contractions (even great for menstrual cramps).  For now, I use it when my back aches carrying the little one inside.  The Labor Sock can be heated in the microwave for 15-30 seconds and applied to just the right spot to help relax muscles and ease localized cramping during labor.  The ribbons may be used to tie the Sock on so you can enjoy hands-free relief.  It's filled with rice and calming organic lavender and measures at about 4" wide, which is small enough to get right to the achy spot without overheating you.

Earth Mama's Natural Stretch Oil and Hot Spot Labor Sock is the natural way to go to help soothe your expanding and aching body (HSUper Parents-Approved)!

BUY IT!  You may purchase Earth Mama's Natural Stretch Oil for $24.95 and Earth Mama's Hot Spot Labor Sock for $14.95 at EcoMom.  EcoMom has kindly offered HSUper Parents readers a 15% discount off your first order (discount code SBBL222 good through June 30, 2010).  They also have a new program, EcoPass ($99 annual membership), which provides for 15% discount on every order, as well as free shipping with no $75 minimum requirement.  For their current promotion, like Plum Organics on Facebook to get 30% off everything on EcoMom's site (wow!) - code under Plum Offer on their page.

It's a Boy - What a Roller Coaster Ride!

It's a boy!  Yesterday, my doctor just confirmed that we are going to have a baby boy.  Wow, what a roller coaster ride it has been for me.  So, the story goes like this.  When I was first pregnant, I've always had a gut feeling that I was carrying a baby boy.  So, I went shopping for boy clothes (I know, a little early).  But being our first child, I was too excited and I just love shopping for baby items.  When I had my ultrasound at 18 weeks, the technician that my doctor scheduled me to see was unable to determine the sex of our baby (baby's legs were closed) but was guessing that it was a girl.  From then on, we were convinced that it's going to be a girl plus the fact that many people were saying that they think I am having a girl.  In the Chinese culture, they say that a round tummy will be a girl and a pointy one will be a boy. And, everyone thought my tummy was round.  Then, I started shopping for girl items - oh, how cute they are.  But, to our surprise, we are going to be blessed with a baby boy!

Entertainment Centers

After my husband and I got married, we stayed with his parents until we finally found and purchased our first house.  We moved out in late-2009 and my in-laws have finally finished turning our room into one of their entertainment centers.  They have beautifully furnished their media room with a new couch and ottoman, coffee table, two end tables, tv stand, surround sound system, and a spanky new flat-screen tv.  I must say, with the right entertainment center, the room will have a total different feel.  Keep in mind that when choosing an entertainment center, it must match the colors of the furniture and room.

Driving from one furniture store to another may be a very tiresome and time-consuming task.  To bypass the hassle, shopping for an entertainment center can be as easy as a click of a button.  In addition to their 200+ stores online, CSN Stores offer many selections of entertainment centers that may be a perfect fit for your house or media room.

HALO SleepSack Review

Thank you Crazy House and HALO SleepSack for the SleepSack Wearable Blanket!  It's the #1 choice of hospitals.  In fighting SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), the HALO SleepSacks eliminate the need for loose blankets that may cover your baby's face and interfere with breathing.  With the SleepSacks, it will keep your baby safe and warm all night long.  HALO SleepSacks come in Swaddle and Wearable Blanket, ranging from sizes Small (0-6 mo.) to X-Large (18-24 mo.).  Toddler sizes are also available as Big Kid's SleepSack.

"Remember that BACK IS BEST for babies safest sleep."

Being a first time mom-to-be, I know that I will constantly check on my Baby Hsu's breathing.  Or, I'll probably stare at Baby Hsu sleeping the entire time.  But with the SleepSack, I will feel more at ease knowing that Baby Hsu is safe and sleeping better.  I definitely recommend the HALO SleepSack for a safer way to sleep!

Savvy Bowtique Review

Thank you Savvy Bowtique for this cute red and white bow clip!  I can't wait to adorn Baby Hsu's hair with this lovely bow.  The size is about 4" length x 3" width.  It's a good size for babies and little girls.  The bow clip is very versatile - can be attached to the hair as is or can even be attached to a headband or beanie.  It's especially perfect for the holidays - Christmas, Chinese New Year, birthdays - where there will be a lot of redness going on.

Savvy Bowtique offers many other products, such as hats/beanies, headbands, blankets, bows (cheer, baby, spike, korker), pony streamers, itty bitty clippies, tutus, flower clips, princess products, keychains/wristlets, and my favorite - the pettiskirts.

Pregnancy Awareness Month - Kick-Off Event @ Tree People (Beverly Hills, CA)

Hubby and I had a blast at the Pregnancy Awareness Month (PAM) kick-off event held at Tree People in Beverly Hills on May 2, 2010.  Many thanks to Anna Getty and Alisa Donner, co-founders of PAM, for hosting such an informative event!
"PAM is aimed to empower pregnant women and new parents with information, “how to” ideas and inspiration to incorporate PAM’s four key initiatives – education, exercise, nutrition & wellness and nurture – into their life routines and to show how easy it can be to make healthy changes in their lives, for themselves, and their children."

We gained a lot of insights from visiting each vendor's booths and listening to the panel discussion, which included Anna Getty, Ricki Lake, Ricki's doula, and Joely Fisher.  The panel discussion included topics from giving birth in a hospital, birthing center, or right at your own home.  To name a few, we were able to gain information from EcoMom, Hot Mom's Club, ERGObaby, Aden + Anais, Moby Wrap, Born Free, Belly Buds, gDiapers and many more.  Unfortunately, we weren't able to stay for the entire event.  I was so bummed that we had to miss Scott Stapp's (from Creed) performance.  They are one of my all-time favorite bands.  Also, Trista Sutter and Jessica Denay were there to sign their book The Hot Mom to Be Handbook.  But, we were both happy campers to leave the event with some awesome raffle prizes and a PAM gift bag!

Thank you sponsors for the wonderful goodies in the PAM gift bag!!!

GIVEAWAY - Smart Mom Teething Bling Necklace! (CLOSED)

I am very honored to present to you the Teething Bling by SmartMom!  There has been so much buzz going on about the brilliant Teething Bling.  Many mommy celebrities such as Tori Spelling, Denise Richards, Melissa Joan Hart, and Ming Na fashion their wardrobe with a Teething Bling.  Teething Bling as inspired by babies who like to tug on our jewelry and was designed for little ones to handle and chew.  It is the original patent-pending teething jewelry.

I have had many experiences with holding relatives' and friends' babies where they would tug on my hair, earring, and necklace.  My main concern was the babies chewing on toxic chemicals from my jewelry.  And, that's why I think the Teething Bling (made from the same material as many teething toys) is the perfect solution.  Not only is it perfect for moms to wear, but the Teething Bling also looks great on dads or anyone who is going to be caring for the baby for the day.  I especially can't wait to wear my Teething Bling necklace to church to keep Baby Hsu quiet.

In addition to Teething Blings, Smart Mom offers a variety of other products such as coordinating bangles, Tween Bling, Teething Bling keychains, onesies, giftsets and gift cards.  Here are some beautiful colors that they offer (additional colors and patterns may be found on their website).

- Beautiful for moms and safe for babies
- Non-toxic, BPA-free, phthalate-free, PVC-free and lead-free
